In the first 9 months of 2018, 324 companies have invested in Nuevo León, which shows that the state continues to be the most attractive destination to invest in Mexico. It has also been a historic Third Quarter. From July to September 2018, Nuevo León raised $1,416 million of FDI, a figure that is also the highest in the last 10 years, representing 34% of all FDI captured in the country during the same period.

At the end of the third quarter of 2018, Nuevo León is the state that has added the largest number of new foreign companies to the National Registry of Foreign Investment, with 79.

The origin of the FDI captured in Nuevo Leon in the first 9 months of 2018 comes mainly from the United States, which represents 63% of the total FDI, followed by Argentina with 15%, Spain with 8%, and the Netherlands with 4% .

During the first 9 months of 2018, the investment from the United States was $2,030 million dollars, 158% higher than the same period in 2017, which was $ 785 million dollars. The above, positions Nuevo León as the favorite destination in Mexico for US investments, capturing an amount almost 3 times higher than the state in second place (Coahuila: $ 710 million dollars).

This clearly shows that US investors have left behind the uncertainty that led after the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement and the rhetoric of the President Donald Trump, reactivating their investments in Nuevo León.
