Companies export 8,100 million USD of appliances annually.
The state of Nuevo Leon has positioned itself as the main producer of domestic appliances in México and exports 8,100 million USD of appliances annually.
During the presentation of the Fifth Meeting of the Cluster of Household Appliances, the Undersecretary of Industry, Trade and Services, Américo García Almaguer, assured that the Government of Nuevo Leon has developed and promoted a network of 12 clusters and that the household appliances is the one that has grown the most in recent years, generating more than 33 thousand direct jobs.
"The Government of Nuevo Leon supports this Fifth Meeting and as a Government we have managed to develop 12 strategic clusters, it is very important because we participate with the concept of the triple helix: we represent universities, the State Government and companies," the state official mentioned.
Through diverse actions, the Ministry of Economy and Labor of Nuevo León will strengthen the link between the large appliance manufacturers and the small and medium-sized suppliers of parts for that industry, in order to increase the leadership and production of that sector.
More than 300 business appointments will be made during this meeting between large appliance companies and suppliers of that industry.
The president of the Cluster of Home Appliances (CLELAC), Eduardo Elizondo Williams, said that Nuevo Leon is the national leader in the production of home appliances, concentrating 40 percent of the total share of that market.
"The estimated production of home appliances in Nuevo Leon was 3,700 million dollars in 2017 and by 2024 we estimate it could reach 4,600 million dollars," he said.
On the other hand, companies in Nuevo León supply up to 60 percent of the parts for the industry and the goal is to increase it to 80 percent.
Among the appliances that are produced in Nuevo Leon, there are refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers, televisions and microwave ovens, among others.
The Cluster of Home Appliances is integrated by 60 companies and organizations, and during the Fifth Business Meeting that will take place on September 12th at Cintermex, they will seek to strengthen the integration of SMEs into this sector.
Among the large companies seeking supplies there is Whirlpool, Bosch, Carrier, Danfoss, Embraco, Broad Ocean, Carrier, Criotec, Daikin, Friedrich, Johnson Controls, Lennox International, Mabe, Regal Beloit and Trane.
This group of companies look for components such as assembly of products, stamping, forging, plastics and rubber, coatings, thermostats, tubes, profiles, machining, metal smelting, packaging and electronics.
